Arabian Nights Final board

I'm proud of my boards for once! I think they tie I'm with my them we'll with the Arabic writing and paint thrown on the boards, I did the splatters paint because one a year in India they have a colour festival where they throw paint at each other so it's looks like a explosion of colour.
I tried making each illustration different with there own personality I did this with the body language, makeup and hair.
I also want to make the skirt or trousers they were wearing to be as colourful as possible because the shirt was monochrome.

Mimi Nizan inspiration

Because my illustrations were Indian I wanted them to have dark eyes but I was finding it difficult drawing them. So I googled illustrators who had illustrated the kardashian says they are know for having dark eyes and that's when I came across Nizan. I love how petit and doll like her illustrations are and the defined
cheekbones really make it look high fashion and stand out I LOVE IT!

Nizan inspiration

I came across Mimi Nizan bye searching for people who had done fashion illustrations for the kardashians ,because they are know for there heavy smokey eye and I wanted to see how illustrators had captured that. I loved how Mimi made her illustration have a zombie yet sexy look about them I also loved how she made the cheekbones stand out do much almost like an extreme contour(bronzed cheek).

Pattern cutting

I've finally finished my practice for my shirt il post a pic soon. I didn't find anything that difficult that I was pulling my hair out but I guess that's because I enjoy doing it. Probably the hardest stage was making my own pattern piece from scratch and not using a template for the sashes I've attached on, I also realized I could not iron pleats to save my life so that's something I need to practice.

Iggy Azalea makeup

I love iggys look, bright lips and natural eyes with her gorgeous long blonde hair! This look was inspired by her but I made the eyes slightly darker because just mascara does not suit my eyes!! To achieve this I did my normal foundation routine a simple liquid liner, false lashes and blended a matte brown over my eyes followed by a bold lip my mabelline. Don't know if I should do tutorial or not hmm?

Techniques

On the left is a print of peacocks this technique is called magic touch, I chose to use peacocks because in Indian culture peacocks are pets and they are a way to show off how much money you have and the pattern of there feathers gives inspiration for another pattern I could use. On the left I used batik and ink   I used a common Indian pattern and I love this effect which I can also use on fabric.

Designs

Here is just some of my Indian inspired shirt designs. These shirts will be for a Emirates flight attendant.

New project

I've started a new project, I'm going to make a black and white cotton shirt using inspiration from my theme which is(drum role) India! I chose India because there is so many patterns and beautiful architecture there. Also there fashion is distinctive and easy to take ideas from.

Final boards

I am pleased with my boards however if I was to change anything I would make my illustrations pop out more by using brighter colours or a different media. I also would change the background as it's hard to see.

Final 8 designs

Here are my final 8 designs ready for my final board. As you can see I have designed a capsule collection which is very girly yet sophisticated. I think my medical them is very visible throughout and you can pin point the different techniques and shapes I have takes from Betsey Johnson's collection.

Marketing and promotion material Lavinia collection

I'm very pleased with the final look of my bag and swing tag I think it links to my theme we'll with the skeleton head. I also placed the swing tag and side view of the bag Slanted because the collection is a bit messy and qwerky. I chose baby pink to be the main colour of the packaging as I think it was the main colour in the Betsey Johnson collection. If I was to change anything I would wan the skull to stand out more I would also include different materials on the board to make it more interesting and to show what material I would want the bag to be made out of.

Cocktail dress

I wanted this dress to be a statement piece and to complete my capsule collection. Betsey Johnson did a similar dress but longer and had a different belt , I shortned the dress to make it more wearable and young.
I chose to do this illustration in watercolour as it gave the rough texture I was wanting, in my final illustration  this dress will be black, white and pale pinks .

Swing tags

I wanted my swing tag to be something you would notice from a distance and that you would keep. Because my collection is at a designer level the tag had to be different and appeal to my client.

Art Nouvaeu design

The French term if art nouveau means 'new heart' meaning colourful, movement and free moving this can be with fashion art or buildings. Nouveau is very European this is why the magazines were only published in Europe. Nouveau is know for its loose structure, nude earth colours, asymmetric lines and models being pale skin and red hair typically.
